A day later came the US publication of the first book, BEYOND THE HALLOWED SKY, by Pyr Books and available via Simon and Schuster, with links to Amazon and other online bookshops.
This book has had kind words from North American authors:
Ken Macleod does things nobody else does and this is a terrific read. – Jo Walton, multi-award-winning author of Among Others and What Makes This Book So Great
Sure, some writers knock it out of the park but with Beyond the Hallowed Sky, Ken MacLeod knocks it right out of the solar system! Too often, space opera throws science out the airlock, but MacLeod has given us a believable faster-than-light adventure that will have you racing through the pages at superluminal speed. – Robert J. Sawyer, Hugo Award-winning author of The Oppenheimer Alternative
An exceptional blend of international politics, hard science, and first contact.
- Michael Mammay, author of the Planetside series.
Great! Just ordered my copy of 'BEYOND THE REACH OF EARTH' from Blackwells. I'm looking forward to immersing myself in it.
ReplyDeleteOf course, now the title of volume 3 will also have to begin 'BEYOND...'.
Thanks, Tristram! Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the title of book 3 does begin 'BEYOND...'
The link to the American release is slightly messed up. It should be https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Beyond-the-Hallowed-Sky/Ken-MacLeod/9781645060642
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mashers -- corrected.
ReplyDeleteGreat news. I have family visiting from the UK this summer and will ask them to bring a copy (which is how I managed to get a copy of Beyond the Hallowed Sky)
ReplyDeleteUnknown -- thanks! I should say a US edition of Beyond the Reach of Earth is due to be published by Pyr in June.
ReplyDeleteI am not actually in the US, but will keep that in mind.
ReplyDeleteRob-Roy (previously unknown)
Thanks for the heads up I'll order a physical copy for the first time in years as I'll be in the UK in June.
ReplyDeleteI found out about the publication by seeing the book in a shop and buying it. Very 19th century.
ReplyDeleteI read and enjoyed it. It's a bit like the Engines of light trilogy, which I really liked.
Looking forward to part three.
great imput, thanks so much!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, congratulations! I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. I absolutely love this site.thanks
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! Absolutely loved book 2. I'm intrigued by how much of the plot got wrapped up at the end - my mind is now trying to sort through what direction book 3 will take - I'm already looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteJust finished Beyong the Reach of Earth. A real unputdowner book. Gripping right to the end! Hopefully we will see Beyond the Light Horizon before Glasgow 2024 and I can get all three signed.
